This workshop is an introduction to photography as a practice focusing on capture and camera functions. It covers the settings on 35mm analog cameras that have Manual Exposure Mode including Lenses.

  • Introduction to Analog Capture
  • Getting to know your Camera (How light is captured & transformed into images) • Analog camera formats
  • Films ( B&W, colour, chrome)
  • Lenses (Focal Lengths, Macro, Prime & Zoom Lenses)
  • Manual Focus
  • Light Meter
  • Manual Exposure (ISO, Shutter Speeds, F/Stops)
  • Depth of Field (Shallow, Deep, Hyper Focal Distance)
  • Motion (Freezing, Blurring & Panning)
  • Composition and Elements of Design
  • Photojournalism in the Analog Era
